This hotel is located a little way up the road from Pickwick Landing. While I thought the room's bathroom could have been cleaned a little more thoroughly (the door looked dusty and dirty, and there was hair in the floor), I did think the room was clean and comfortable overall. The surrounding landscape is pretty, and the hotel was decorated for fall which was a nice touch. Unfortunately we were awoken repeatedly by another guest who started coming and going from his/her room about every twenty minutes beginning at 6:15 AM on a Sunday, allowing the door to slam behind. This went on for three hours, so we did not get to sleep in as expected. I was a little disappointed that we were placed so close to another guest, but I can't fault the management bc how were they to know someone would behave so rudely? The breakfast was pretty good -- the same that I've seen at other Hampton Inns. The coffee was nice and fresh and very hot. We did get locked out of our room after breakfast. I have read this happens when someone uses a key with a different code to come in your room. There was housekeeping on our floor, and I think they came in despite our "do not disturb sign," rendering our key cards useless, which kind of bothered me. Despite not getting enough rest because of the other guest, I thought this was a fun little getaway. We went to Freddy T's up the road the night we arrived and heard some amazing live music. It wasn't a terrible stay, but I would probably shop around and compare this hotel to others before I returned. It was nice, but I wasn't wowed.

There's no question that this is the nicest hotel in the area, inside and out. Definitely worth the 12 mile drive from the business I had in Savannah. The room we had looked like it had been recently updated- and they did an amazing job. Everything was very clean and well appointed. Perfect bed linens and towels. Lots of thoughtful touches. As nice as the rooms, lobby, pool area and grounds, the staff is even better. It was super busy with grumpy travelers when we were checking in. Ms. Barbara was as gracious checking in the first guest as she was to the last. She's fast, but none of us felt rushed and her kindness never faltered. Staff can really, really make or break a hotel. Beautiful grounds, big clean towels and warm interiors don't just magically appear. It's obvious that their staff is dedicated to working hard and Southern hospitality. Sadly, I missed breakfast. I can't give you a heads up there. I'd stay at that Hampton Inn Pickwick again in a hot minute.
